Jennifer Thomas was born in Dothan, AL and started taking dance classes at age three. Her family moved to Slidell, LA where she was raised and continued to pursue her passion for dance and fitness for 17 years. She competed as a cheerleader and gymnast both locally and nationally and ran varsity track during her high school years. Having a passion for both the performing and visual arts, Jennifer went back to her roots and graduated from Samford Univeristy, in Birmingham, AL, with a bachelor's degree in graphic design and a minor in art. During college, Jennifer worked at Kanakuk camps in Colorado teaching young girls how to wake board and water ski. Amongst other athletic endeavors, she realized the value of challenging yourself physically and mentally and her love for fitness became a lifestyle.
After college, Jennifer moved home to work in the family business as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for McDonald's. Set on becoming an owner/operator of the McDonald's franchise like her father, she quickly realized something was missing. Jennifer tried out for a spot on the New Orleans Saints cheerleading team and made the cut. Some memories she holds dear to her heart are: being a part of history when New Orleans won the NFC championship and Super Bowl for the first time, Touring with the USO to entertain the troops in Iraq and Kuwait, and feeling the spirit of New Orleans and its resilient people reunite after Hurricane Katrina by a Super Bowl victory. During her time as an NFL cheerleader, two fellow Samford graduates introduced her to Pure Barre. Jennifer’s passion for the arts, people, fitness, her community, and charity, explain why Pure Barre immediately captivated her. Jennifer is blessed to have found a career that includes everything she believes in and cannot wait to bring the Pure Barre experience and all it has to offer to New Orleans.
