Amy Tankersley_Conference2014Last month, Pure Barre guest blogger, Wensdy Von Buskirk sat down with Amy Tankersley, our VP of Product & Retail Strategy, and master-mind behind the new exclusive Pure Barre® by Splits59 Collection. Keep reading to learn more about how Amy is going to make your life better at the barre this fall with this fantastic new apparel!

If you’re like me, you’re eager to see Pure Barre’s first-ever clothing line at your local studio.

Pure Barre® by Splits59  has begun to hit the racks in studios all across the country, and will be for sale on Pure Barre’s online shop on October 13th. I snagged an advance copy of the Look Book and I officially want one of everything.

The Fall 2014 collection consists of five tops and two bottoms, in a palette of orchid, steel, azure, black and white. Everything is designed to mix and match, and each piece has unique details, like the built-in legwarmers on the Erid Tight, or the waistband on the Gemini Tight, which can be worn as a high waist, mid-rise or low-rise.

Both tanks (Lynx and Cassi) and the long-sleeve Hydra Pullover have cute strappy backs, and the flowy Norma Wrap features a hood, front pockets and ribbed detailing on the sleeve.

“We wanted this to look and feel very special for our clients,” says Amy Tankersley, Vice President of Product & Retail Strategy for Pure Barre, who led the team effort to develop the line in partnership with long-time vendor Splits59. Amy has a deep background in activewear, and has created women’s clothing for Reebok and Under Armour.

Amy said she was thrilled to use her expertise to create clothing that caters to a very specific group — people like you and me who love Pure Barre.  “Other activewear apparel lines appeal to the masses,” she says. “The focus with Pure Barre® by Splits59 was to build it specifically for our Pure Barre client. We understand our clients and want to cater to them.”

Pure Barre® by Splits59 is designed to function for Pure Barre workouts, as well as transition beyond the barre. This is in keeping with the nationwide activewear trend, an $11 billion-dollar market that’s quickly gaining market share over popular styles such as denim, making activewear America’s new go-to everyday style. Amy says the line will evolve. The plan is to unveil seasonal collections with the Pure Barre lifestyle top of mind.

“There’s so much room for growth and expansion. We want to keep it fresh and new for our clients,” she says. “They take time out of their day to do barre and this is our opportunity to do something special for them.”

As all of us know, favorite Pure Barre pieces sell out quickly, so check with your local studio to see if it has arrived yet. What is your favorite piece? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
