Commit to a Time

Ideally, set a workout time 24 hours beforehand. You’ll know in the back of your mind that there’s a commitment tomorrow, which is similar to a doctor’s appointment. You’re less likely to fall through on this commitment when it’s set as an alarm or written down on your planner.

Pack Up a Duffel Bag

The day before your workout, pack your clothes for the gym. Place the duffel bag in front of your bedroom door. When you wake up tomorrow morning, the bag will face you as a reminder and solid commitment. You’ll also be ready to go, which lessens the stress of heading out to the gym with a busy schedule otherwise.

Find a Buddy

You won’t miss out on any responsibilities, but you’re able to fit in a much-needed workout.

Listen to your body when it comes to aches and pains. Establishing a workout routine is critical, but you don’t want to overdo it as you commit to the practice. If you feel more than just sore, it’s time to take a break. Bothersome pains should be examined by a medical professional too. By taking care of yourself with common sense as your tool, you’ll be able to exercise and benefit from it through the years.
