Pure Barre Jacksonville-area Studio Owners

Lacey’s Pure Barre journey began in Charlotte, NC. It was in the Tarheel State where she became a client that loved the burn and craved the shake even more. It was after relocating to Florida that she knew she wanted to build a Pure Barre community of her own.

While I knew that I wanted to invest in a technique that I truly believed in, I wanted to be able to introduce Pure Barre to a new community. In 2012, I relocated back to the city dear to my heart, Jacksonville, FL. By that summer, I nervously (yet excitedly) opened the doors to Pure Barre Jacksonville Beach.

Quickly, I saw my love and passion for Pure Barre create more than a studio but a community. That community continued to grow throughout the city of Jacksonville inspiring strong business-minded women to invest in the Pure Barre brand opening doors to more studios in the area.

One would think that living in the same city, all five owners would be able to come together more often, but being busy is an understatement for us. So this past fall, at our annual Owners’ Conference, we decided to make a new tradition and gather as a group. Our cocktail hour together turned into a bonding experience that then motivated us to plan our first city-wide pop-up class in the 904.

“I can say that working together made this experience so much fun and gave us each a chance to take on a task we were good at. All the clients who attended from our studios had so much fun connecting with other people in the community! We have a lot of girls that attend different studios due to working on one side of town and living on another so this was a great way to show them that even though we are individually owned we still work together!” – Owner, Christina Nelson–Pure Barre Fleming Island

As a result of coming together, we were able to highlight and include local vendors and businesses to participate in the event. Plus, the cost of the pop-up class included a personalized 904 tank for each attendee that helped us to raise enough money to provide clean water to entire village in Haiti.

“Looking out on the crowd as Victoria told everyone to “stack your palms, elbows wide,”–to see the entire crowd starting class in unison? That moment reiterated to me for the countless time the importance of Pure Barre and the community that we have brought together. – Owner, Jenny Parker–Pure Barre San Marco

The train car stage included local studio owners, Victoria, Jenny, Rachel and myself as we each led a section of class, alongside our lead teachers and studio managers. With a view that would give anyone chills….

“Being able to look out amongst hundreds of Pure Barre fanatics from all different neighborhoods around our city all moving to the same beat! It was our first time working together as a city of Pure Barre studios and I think we all walked away knowing that we were better together. Our pure barre community is powerful, unified, and stands out above the rest, and we wanted to show that to our city and to our clients.” – Owner, Victoria Koster–Pure Barre Riverside & Pure Barre Ponte Vedra

The day could not have been more beautiful. Perfect weather and hundreds of smiling faces filled the Unity Plaza. Our staff had a blast not only working outside but also enjoying class and representing their respective studios. Class was completed with a complimentary mimosa and mingling among our beloved clients and communities.

“After the event […] we found that everyone already wanted to know when our next event was! It encouraged many to see just how big the Pure Barre Jacksonville community is. How so many share a similar passion.” – Owner, Rachel Brown–Pure Barre Tapestry Park & Pure Barre Julington Creek.

As I reminisce over the first few clients I welcomed through the doors of my studio almost five years ago, I could never imagine how much Pure Barre would impact so many lives in Jacksonville, alone. This first pop-up event as a city was a true testament of the amazing power of Pure Barre. The Pure Barre technique is much more than a workout; it is a lifestyle created by a community with a positive influence on both mind and body.
