Move for 30 Minutes Per Day

Human beings are not supposed to sit still all day. They are supposed to move. There have been a number of studies done to confirm that being sedentary can shorten your lifespan. Exercising just 30 minutes per day can boost your health in a number of ways. It can lower your stress level, blood pressure and strengthen your heart. It can also boost your brain health.

There are several things that you can do to get moving. You can take a walk around your office while you are at work. You can also take a class at a local Pure Barre Studio. Dancing, jogging and cycling are some of the other things that you can do to get moving.

Keep in mind that you do not have to exercise for a long time in order for it to be beneficial. In fact, some studies suggest that exercising for 30 minutes is just as effective as exercising for 60 minutes.


Drink Plenty of Water

Dehydration has been linked to headaches, fatigue, and hunger. That is why it is important to drink water on a regular basis. Water needs can vary from person to person. However, you do not want to only drink water when you are feeling thirsty. It is best for you to keep a water bottle with you at all times and drink small amounts of it throughout the day.


Get the Right Amount of Sleep

Health experts recommend that adults get seven to eight hours of sleep per night. However, sleep needs can vary from person to person. Some people are able to function on just six hours of sleep. Other people need eight. The key is to know your body and know how much sleep you need in order to function optimally.


Get Some Fresh Air

Spending time outside and getting some fresh air is important for your mental and physical health. Try to spend some time outside every day if the weather permits. Even if you are only able to spend 10 minutes outside, you will feel more energized and refreshed.


Eat the Rainbow

Ideally, you should get five servings of fruits and vegetables per day. An easy way that you can get the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables is to eat different color foods with every meal. Fruits and vegetables contain many of the vitamins and minerals you need for optimal health.
