Shayna began playing competitive sports at an early age. She continued to play travel ice hockey, field hockey and softball throughout her high school years. Shayna went to the University of Rochester and played on the Field Hockey team for U of R. After the first field hockey season, Shayna joined the club ice hockey team. She remembered how much she loved ice hockey, and when her club coach got a job coaching on an ice hockey team, she followed him to Buffalo to play on the Varsity Women's Ice Hockey team. Throughout Shayna's college experience she was constantly involved in fitness, and looking for new, healthy life style activities. She earned her 300 hour hot yoga certification and began teaching yoga in Buffalo after graduation. At this time she continued to experiment with different exercise options—from running half marathons and competing in a triathlon to "intense interval training sessions" and a "Tough Mudder". After graduation she went to Tampa, Florida to teach yoga and that's where she was introduced to Pure Barre. She fell in love immediately. The results she acquired from Pure Barre were like none she had ever experienced before. This low impact method of fitness changed her body, and lifted her spirits like no other form of exercise. Shayna is thrilled to introduce the Buffalo area to Pure Barre. It is like a dream come true!
