Pure Barre Bethesda is looking to add to its fabulous teaching team!

What we are looking for in an instructor:

  • Connected to the Bethesda community, or surrounding DC Metro area

  • Already living a health-centered life

  • Ability to command a room of 20+ people

  • Ability to count to and on the beat of the music

  • Passionate about people and fitness

  • An enthusiastic and outgoing personality

  • Strong background in dance, fitness or cheerleading is preferred, but not required

  • Ability to travel to and from the studio

  • Available to teach a minimum of 4 classes per week, in addition to parts of 2 weekends per month

  • A schedule that allows for flexibility. Currently hiring teachers with mid-morning and/or mid-day availability.

Teachers are required to complete an all expenses paid 2-day training at one of Pure Barre’s training centers prior to teaching.

This position will report to the Studio Owner/Operating Partner.  The Studio Coordinator will provide strategic leadership not only in day to day operations for the studio, but in the long term strategy to add value to the business from a performance and client experience perspective.


  • Manage studio schedule and staffing needs; hiring studio support staff and instructors as needed to maintain studio schedule.

  • Connect with potential clients through networking, regular grassroots marketing and word of mouth to drive them into the studio.

  • Create a culture that motivates, inspires and transforms lives in your market.

  • Manage follow-up efforts with existing and potential clients to promote membership sales.

  • Create corporate and community partnerships and manage periodic follow-up with contacts.

  • Respond to and address client issues, escalating to Operating Partner when necessary.

  • Maintains studio retail by observing displays of products, restocking shelves with inventory, observing inventory levels, and reordering when levels appear low.

  • Plan, coordinate and execute studio events.

  • Proactively creates, executes, and manages PR and Social Media campaigns.

  • Utilize point of sale technology for scheduling classes, retail sales, and analyzing results of overall studio performance.

  • Be an expert on the Pure Barre technique and teach pure barre classes exceptionally well (don’t worry – we’ll provide your technique training!).

  • Coach instructor team, practice with teacher trainees, and perform teacher evaluations to ensure technique is being delivered consistently and effectively.


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask.

  • MS Office or Windows based software required.

  • Social Media Savvy; both personally and professionally.

  • Desire to provide outstanding customer experiences.

  • Studio/retail management experience a plus.


  • Active lifestyle; already living and breathing a health‐centered life both physically and mentally.

  • Passionate about people and fitness.

  • A connector – willing to strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone.

  • Creative and ready to think outside of the box to build a brand and business.

  • Ability to work at least one weekend day per week, or two weekends per month.

  • Resourceful; able to solve problems and move forward without having all of the answers.
