Project Manager, New Store Openings

Denver, CO

Reporting to the VP of Real Estate, the Project Manager, New Store Openings will support the Real Estate, Design and Construction department personnel in a broad range of development related responsibilities, primarily focused on managing the new store opening pipeline. The incumbent will work closely with real estate, operations, training, and retail product personnel as part of a multi-functional team. This is a client-facing role and frequent communication with Pure Barre franchisees will be required. It is imperative that candidates can develop and maintain professional relationships with studio owners to achieve departmental goals. Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Manage the opening process for new studio locations, relocations, and remodels of existing locations in a manner consistent with Pure Barre standards and in accordance to planned project timing.
  • Act as liaison between franchisee base and third-party architects and signage vendors.
  • Assist in securing necessary entitlements and manage project progress through third party general contractors.
  • Work with landlord, developer, and contractor to meet possession dates based on lease requirements.
  • Use process tools including play books, manuals, project calendars, progress tracking, to deliver each project on time.
  • Review franchisee provided completion photos and grant internal approval to open.
  • Collaborate with construction and real estate departments to create and assess landlord delivery exhibits, develop studio layouts, and accurately project studio opening timelines.
  • Communicate project progress to the development, operations, product, and training teams throughout the entire project.
  • Maintain and deliver milestone report to cross functional partners.
  • Complete special projects or other duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel, including overnight, will be required.
Experience, Education and/or Training:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study (business, construction management, architecture).
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.
  • Desire to learn from subject matter experts within the development team.
  • Experience in retail or hospitality industry, with experience in multiple store types (strip centers, street front, mixed use, etc.); franchisee-driven environment preferred.
  • Ability to manipulate basic lease outline drawings in CAD to produce new studio layouts (preferred).
  • Understanding of basic lease terms.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects, work independently, manage/review projects, and perform ad hoc and structured analysis.
  • Willingness to perform administrative tasks as needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit necessary.
